Rosh Hashanah

We are once again approaching the sacred days of Rosh Hashanah—a time filled with unique opportunities for reflection, growth, and spiritual renewal. These days leading up to the New Year are imbued with divine light and blessing, from which we can draw both physical and spiritual abundance to sustain us throughout the entire year.

This past year, we have remained steadfast in our efforts to uphold the eternal Jewish values passed down through generations. Whether it's ensuring a kosher mezuzah adorns every doorpost, making sure there is shmurah matzah at every Seder table, encouraging participation in the Sefer Torah campaign, or promoting the observance of tefillin and the lighting of Shabbat candles—these mitzvot are the cornerstone of our Jewish life.

Our most essential work, however, continues to be in the field of Jewish education, for both young and old. A proper Jewish education plants seeds of wisdom and righteousness that will blossom throughout one's life, nurturing future generations in the ways of Torah and mitzvot.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy new year. May it be inscribed in the book of life, for a year of joy, health and a sweet year, may peace prevail for the people of Israel, and may we all celebrate a blessed and happy new year in a whole world out of true redemption.

Respectfully,
Rabbi Arie Zeev Raskin
Chief Rabbi of Cyprus
