The custom of 'Chai Rotel' donation

What is it?

The virtue is to donate drink for the people who come to the Tziun (grave) of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai on the day of his Hilula (memorial) - Lag B'Omer (33 days of the Omer counting). For hundreds of years this custom has been known to be beneficial to anyone who wants his wishes to be fulfilled.

The Lubavitcher Rebbe has discovered that Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai is present in every parade, and therefore the Chassidim concluded that the well-known and famous custom - to donate Chai Rotel drink on Lag B'Omer, so as to be blessed with children, livelihood and all other salvations – may also affect in donations for the parades. Many people told their own stories about how using this custom worked miracles with them.

How much?

Rotel is a measure of volume (about 3 liters), and Chai is 18 in Gematria. In total - 54 liters.
